Courses on River Science
The Shiv Nadar University (Dadri, U.P.) has started a programme on Water Science and Policy which offers MSc and Certificate courses. One of the courses in the programme is devoted to River Science and another on Lakes and Wetlands. The first batch of students started in August 2017.

Training on Writing Scientific Papers
The Pragya Education and Environment Trust will conduct two consecutive training programmes on Writing Scientific Papers during November 2017 at its Centre for Inland Waters in South Asia in Khajuraho (M.P.). The short-term training programme will benefit researchers in all areas of natural and environmental sciences, and will emphasise practical (hands-on) training. Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of Wetlands
The National Institute of Ecology, New Delhi, is now implementing a project on Capacity Building for Conservation of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of Wetlands in Relation to Global Change, funded by the Asia ‐Pacific Network for Global Change Research, Japan for the period July 2014 to June 2015. The Project will run three capacity building workshops in Kolkata, Guwahati and Kathmandu during February to March 2015.

A related activity of this project is the development of an online database of individuals and institutions engaged with or interested in wetlands (including lakes and rivers) throughout tropical Asia.
